Every Verti-lift™ consists of four major parts:
The U-Dock, The Power Channel, The Lifting Assembly, and The Cable
System.
U-DOCK
The U-Dock consist of the following components:
-
Bridge
Deck - the dock section at the base of the U-dock that
connects the side "finger" sections and contains mounting
saddles for placement of the power channel.
- Fingers (Side Sections) - the dock sections
that form the sides of the U-dock and contain the supports that
capture and guide the lifting assembly (see below). These side
sections are also equipped with pre-mounted turning sheaves (pulleys)
that lead the cables to the power channel.
- Corner Sections - mitered dock sections (4'
x 4' x 45 deg) that stablize the Verti-Lift™ and provide
access to the bow of the boat.
- Floats - large floats that attach to bottom
of U-dock Assembly via the internal nut channels using Z-clips.
- Decking - preassembeled 4 x 4 deck sections
that drop in to the top of the U-dock Assembly (as with any Eco-Flote™
dock).
- Roof System (optional) - a rigid pitched roof
structure or sundeck (with railing), constructed of marine grade
alumimum supports that attach to the external channels on the
dock frames.
These six components are assembled together to form the
U-dock. The components below, including the power channel, lifting
assembly, and cable system are added into the assembled U-dock
to create a complete Verti-Lift™.
POWER CHANNEL
The power channel consists of a 9" x 4 " heavy duty
(.290 inch thick) aluminum rectangular channel (with hinged 9"
x 4" cover) containing the entire drive and control mechanism.
This mechanism includes the gear motor (page entitled Drive Specifications),
jaw coupler, load bearing, stationary load bracket (support pedastal),
stainless steel drive screw, moving drive bracket (where cables
from lifting assembly attach , and the sheaves (pulleys) that
guide the cables. The power channel is shipped as a complete unit
which is bolted to the bridge deck via mounting saddles.
LIFTING ASSEMBLY
- C-channels - verticle posts that extend from the side sections
of the U-dockdown into the water beneath the boat. Each pair of
C-channels captures and guides a horizontal lifting beam that
spans the area between the "fingers".
- Horizontal Lifting Beams - 8 by 3 inch heavy duty aluminum
beams that slide up and down within the C-channels when the power
drive is activated.
- Horizontal Sill - an aluminum L-beam that attaches to the C-channel
and runs parallel to the horizontal lifting beams. It holds the
beams in place and stabilzes the lifting assembly.
- Bunker System - padded adjustable bunks that cradle your boat
as it rests on the lifting beams.
CABLE SYSTEM
We use 3/8 inch flexible cable with swaged studs (ends) to connect
the lifting beams to the power drive. Each stud includes heavy
duty stainless steel adjusting nuts that firmly secure the cable
and allow you to perfectly balance the lift. The entire cable
system precludes the possibility of cable override and dislodgement.
ACCESSORIES
The Verti-Lift™ utilizes the same ramps, hinges, anchoring
systems and accessories (i.e. cleats, bumpers, ladders, benches,
etc.) as the rest of the Eco-Flote™ System. For more information,
